Yard sign placement checklist
Placement matters. A good sign in the wrong spot does nothing. This checklist keeps it simple and safe.
1) Permission rules (simple)
- Ask the homeowner.
- Do not place signs where you do not have permission.
- If they say no, respect it.
2) Visibility checklist
- Face it toward the main traffic.
- Keep it close to the road but safe.
- Avoid bushes and parked cars blocking it.
- Make sure it’s readable from a moving car.
3) Timing
Leave it up during the job window (with permission). Remove it when the job is done unless the homeowner wants it left.
4) Mistakes to avoid
- Too many signs (annoying)
- Blocking sidewalks
- Unreadable angle
- No permission
