Nextdoor post templates (no spam)

Neighborhood apps work when you post like a normal local business. These templates give you a safe rotation you can reuse every week.

1) Tone rules (the reason posts get reported)

Neighborhood apps are built for neighbors. If you post like an ad, people report you.

Use this tone:

  • Calm
  • Helpful
  • Short
  • Local

2) 5 post templates (copy/paste)

Change the job words to match your trade.

  • Proof: “Before/after from today in Edmond. If your [problem] looks like this, call or text and we’ll point you the right way.”
  • Tip: “Quick tip for Edmond homeowners: if you see [sign], do [safe step]. If it keeps happening, it’s time to call a pro.”
  • Process: “What happens when you call us: 1) quick questions 2) schedule 3) options 4) done and cleaned up.”
  • Offer: “Scheduling [service] next week in Edmond. Call/text for availability.”
  • FAQ: “Common question: ‘Do you charge a trip fee?’ Answer: [your short answer]. Happy to help.”

3) Comment/DM handling templates

Fast replies win. Here are safe reply templates:

  • Comment reply: “Happy to help. What city are you in and what’s going on?”
  • DM opener: “Thanks for reaching out. What do you need help with and what city are you in?”
  • Next step: “If you want, call/text [number] and we can schedule.”

4) Frequency and rotation (simple plan)

Use a realistic plan you can keep:

  • Post 2 times per week.
  • Rotate proof, tip, offer, FAQ.
  • Reuse good posts with small updates.

Consistency matters more than creativity.

5) What gets you reported (avoid)

  • ALL CAPS offers.
  • Posting the same ad every day.
  • Arguing in comments.
  • Overposting links.
